Meet Our Board Member
David Gellerman
David Gellerman is a life-long Quad Citizen growing up in Rock Island and residing in Bettendorf since moving back to the area after college.
Immediately after graduating from Drake University, David joined his family’s businesses which have included wholesale distribution, a chain of convenience stores, a minor league professional basketball team and commercial real estate. Today the company focusses on the commercial real estate sector as Hawkeye Commercial Real Estate. They operate a full-service brokerage firm along with asset management and an investment and development divisions with offices in the Quad Cities and Coralville/Iowa City. Over his 37 years with the company, David has worked in every operating unit of the companies and succeeded his father as CEO in 2012 and chairman in 2019.
David currently serves as the president of the board of directors for the Quad City Area Realtors (2024), on the Business Advocacy Council for the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, on the Better Health Foundation where he chairs the Finance & Investment Committee. Additionally, he serves on the boards of Congregation Beth Israel (past president), the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities, Hebrew Cemetery Association and Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Committee.
He previously served on the boards of Genesis Philanthropy, the predecessor of the Better Health Foundation and WVIK Augustana NPR, where he is a past chairman.
David and his wife, Rene reside in Bettendorf and are the parents of five grown children.
