Vicki Palmer

Vicki was born in Davenport then resided in Buffalo, Iowa and attended Bettendorf and Davenport schools. She received her bachelor’s degree in social services from Truman State University and has since committed her energies to the Quad-City region as a civic and healthcare leader, community advocate and entrepreneur. Vicki was also involved in the school and community activities of the three daughters she shares with her husband, Dr. Dennis Palmer.

For more than 40 years, Vicki co-owned and was the human resources/financial manager for a rural physician-led practice. In her interactions with patients, Vicki listened carefully to their health needs and learned how these health issues were impacting the community. Among these were obesity and the need for increased physical activity, better access to mental health services, and the importance of care for vulnerable populations -- long before these were hot topics for community organizations.

Vicki has generously offered her time and insights to Mercer County and the region. She co-chaired the $15-million-dollar capital campaign to renovate Mercer County Hospital, now Genesis Medical Center, Aledo. She was also an avid supporter and Captain for the Mercer County YMCA $4 million expansion.

Other beneficiaries of Vicki’s passionate leadership include Mercer Foundation for Health, Aledo Methodist Church food outreach ministry, PEO and the Aledo Rhubarb Fest. Vicki has managed and operated Fair Morning Farms, a recognized exhibitor of Saddlebred horses. She looks forward to exploring exciting places in her retirement.
